Have you ever gotten a present from someone that seems completely ridiculous and like something that you could never want or need and then, since you're a baaaad person deep down, you take said gift out in front of your friends and laugh and laugh at the ridiculousness of it? And you also happen to be at a time in your life when you think "I don't need things. I need money. And maybe a beer. But things? Not so much." And then the next night you plug it in and wake the following morning to a gentle chorus of birds soothing you into the warm glow of a man made sunrise and you wake (in the dark rain) to think, "THIS. This is the best thing ever." And you may already be planning ways to pack it and carry it with you wherever you go even though it is not at all portable, needs to be plugged in and comes with a crazy European plug. And sometimes THINGS are ok. Thanks M.

p.s. this photo is of New York, at sunset (not sunrise) but it's the closest I can come to the warmth of this lovely light/thing.

p.p.s. the title of this post is stolen from another friend extraordinaire who I wish I could see more of: K-dawg
